Linda S Neagle, age 72, of Gulfport, MS departed this earthly life on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport.
Linda was born Thursday, January 3, 1952, in Elgin, IL. She was the daughter of Ovid “Stormy” Neagle Jr. and Barbara “Bobbie” (Thurnau). She grew up in Overland Park, KS, and graduated from Shawnee Mission South High School in 1970.
She attended services and participated in various church activities at the First Baptist Church of Biloxi and previously at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Shreveport, LA. She found solace and strength in the community of believers, forging deep and meaningful relationships with fellow parishioners.
One of her greatest joys in life was quilting and sewing. She had a remarkable talent for turning pieces of fabric into works of art, and friends and family were often recipients of her handmade quilts, a testament to her creativity, talent, love, and generosity.
Her quilting and sewing projects were not only a creative outlet but also a way to connect with others. She was an active member of the sewing group at her church in Biloxi and previously in Shreveport, where she shared her expertise and passion with fellow enthusiasts. She also spent countless hours on sewing and quilting projects for the many craft shows she participated in.
Nothing brought her more happiness than spending time with her grandchildren. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she took great delight in creating cherished memories with them. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed dearly by her family and many friends.
Linda is survived her daughter Christine Mosher (Donny) of Wellsville, KS, her daughter Stephanie Landes (Matt Monell) of Lenexa, KS; 6 grandchildren: Ethan Mosher (Ashlyn), Aaron Mosher, Jayden Monell, Amanda Mosher, Kaitlyn Monell, and Matthew Monell, two great-grandchildren: Salem Monell and Douglas Joseph “DJ” Mosher, 3 nieces, one nephew and many friends she considered family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stormy and Bobbie Neagle, her sister Valerie Neagle, her brother James Neagle, and her son Jeffrey Landes.
A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024, with a visitation at 10:30 am, and a service at 11 am at the First Baptist Church of Biloxi, located at 1560 Popps Ferry Road, Biloxi, MS 39532. The service will be live-streamed and will be available to view on the church’s website (fbcbiloxi.org).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society for brain cancer research.
