Lillie Ladner Shavers, age 80, of Kiln left her family to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, June 6, 2009, after her courageous fight with diabetes and cancer. Lillie was a loving and devoted mother and granny. She loved her family and friends and never met a stranger. Lillie was a very loving and giving person. Lillie loved cooking, gardening, fishing and her hand made quilt's to give to others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Salvador and Mary Ladner; husband, John Shavers; grandson, Randy Simmons; son-in-law, James Simmons; her brothers, Arvis Ladner, Ed Ladner, Nazare Ladner, and Ernest Ladner; sisters, Lillian Page, Flora Lee Necaise, and Arneva Bryant.
Lillie leaves to cherish her memories her daughters, Lillie Mae Simmons of Kiln, Brandi Shanahan and husband Dave, of Steep Hollow; Grandchildren, Daniel and Bailey Shanahan, Donna M. Cameron and husband Timmy of Kiln, Donald Wayne """"Smiley"""" Simmons and wife Tonya of Gulfport, Sandy Holke and husband Justin of Kiln; great grandchildren, Jonathan and Joley Cameron of Kiln, Olivia Simmons of Kiln, and Kimberly, Randy, Jaiden Simmons of Bay St. Louis. She is also survived by brother-in-law Sonny Shavers; sisters-in-laws, Helen and Ella Mae Ladner; and other family and friends who loved her very much.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 8, 2009 from 10am - 2pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln-DeLisle Road, Pass Christian. Funeral service will be held at 2pm in the chapel. Burial will follow at Standard Sandhill Cemetery.
