Lillian Bishop

Lillian Sayag O’Neal Bishop, age 93, of Long Beach, passed away on December 2, 2020.

She was preceded in death by first husband, Arno T. O’Neal; second husband, Franklin A. Bishop; and a brother, Jacques Sayag.

She is survived by her children, Robert A. O’Neal (Mary), Wayne O’Neal (Sally), and Michele Herfurth (Kevin); five grandchildren, Bobby O’Neal, Wayne O’Neal, Jr, and Kyle, Patrick, and Hannah Herfurth; one great-grandchild, Maverick O’Neal; two sisters, Denise Crofoot and Monique Sayag; and other loving relatives in France and Israel.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Orange Grove and retired from Memorial Hospital of Gulfport from the pediatric floor and dialysis unit.Lillian was a loving mother who enjoyed life by taking care of her children and grand children and helping others in need. She will be remembered for her scrumptious pound cake and beautiful crochet which she learned at the age of five. She was born in (French) Casablanca, Morocco and became a war bride of WWII. She loved to tell the story that she came to America on a ship with 499 brides and one war groom! We all loved her, and she will be missed tremendously.

A visitation will be on Monday, December 7, 2020, from 9:30 – 10:30 am at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Long Beach. A graveside service will be at 11 am at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to thank Chris and Jermain and the staff at Winn Dixie Pharmacy for their care and concern over the years. They would also like to thank special family friends, Carl Hager, who was a loving, adopted son and breakfast buddy every Friday, and Dale and Button Martin, for being special neighbors for many years.
