Lewis James "Lew" Wehunt, age 87, of Gulfport, passed away on November 9, 2019. Lew was born in Quincy, IL.
Preceded in death by his father, James Frances Wehunt; his mother, Mary Jane White; his Aunt Dorthy; and his daughter, Karen.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa; his sister, Joyce; his brother, J.C.; his three grandchildren; his four great grandchildren; and his former wife, Anne
Lew's previous residences include Aurora, CO, Tempe/Mesa AZ, Sarasota, FL and was a current resident of the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Gulfport, MS. He retired from the U.S. Armed Forces after 20 years of service with the rank of MSgt in the U.S. Air Force. He served during the Vietnam War. In retirement, he volunteered at Mote Marine Laboratory from 1996-2006 and at Sarasota Memorial Hospital from 2002-2014.
Lew was an avid reader, beachcomber, loved to dance and a good friend & family man.
