Levern L. Aultz, age 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on August 29, 2026.

Levern was a longtime resident of Gulfport and devoted much of his working life to the commercial fishing industry. His love for the water extended beyond his career, as fishing remained one of his favorite pastimes throughout his life.

Above all, Levern cherished his family. He shared 61 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Rita Aultz. He is also survived by his daughters, Virginia Aultz and Tina Ducote and her husband, Leland; his grandchildren, Dustin Ducote, Hannah Ducote, and Brandon McCurry and his wife, Margaret; and his brother, Billy Aultz of Hattiesburg.

Levern will be remembered for the life he built alongside his family, his many years spent on the water, and the memories shared with those who knew and loved him. His presence will be deeply missed, but the love and memories he leaves behind will remain with his family for years to come.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Vital Caring Hospice, especially Ronaldo and Jasmine, for the compassionate and dedicated care they provided to Levern during his final days.

In accordance with Levern’s wishes, no services are planned.
