Leroy Paul Melancon, age 85, passed away surrounded by loved ones on September 2, 2024, in Gulfport, Mississippi.
He was a lifelong resident of the West Bank in Marrero, Louisiana, before moving with his family to Gulfport, where he lived for the past five years. He enjoyed dancing with his wife, playing pool and cards, and he was a private person who cherished his time at home.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Emile Joseph Melancon and Maynora Boudreaux Melancon; wife, Amanda Parks Melancon; granddaughter, Angel Davenport; two brothers, Edgar Malancon, Alfred Melancon; and sisters, Eileen Rodriguez and Ester Melancon Duvic.
Survivors include his four daughters, Crystal Constant (Mike) of Harvey, LA, Desire Badeaux (Todd) of Sandy Hook, MS, Heidi Davenport (Bobby) of Marrero, LA, and Chantell Euper (Ted) of Gulfport, MS; 12 grandchildren, Jessica, Shanttae, Terrilynn, Todd, Jr., Casie, Lasie, Shayla, Daryin, Faith, Hope, Ashley and Kattie; 15 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives; and his beloved dog, King.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 25th at Westlawn Memorial Park, Chapel of Faith Mausoleum, 1225 Whitney Ave., Terrytown, LA 70056.
