Leo John Necaise, Sr., age 85, of Gulfport, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2014.
Mr. Necaise was born on May 15, 1928 to O.L. Growe and Alphonsine Necaise in Dedeaux, MS. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and retired from L & N Railroad. He enjoyed fishing and making cast nets. He will be remembered for always having the cleanest car on the Coast.
He was preceded in death by parents and siblings, Emma, Eugene, Mable, Beulah, Judson, Esther, and Patrick.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Nora S. Necaise; children, Debbie (Danny) Clark, Jimmy (Kim) Necaise, Tanya (Jimmy) Weaver, Johnny (Jeanette) Necaise, Kayree (Scott) Stanton; 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; sister, Annie; stepchildren, Ray (Debbie) Powell, Sherry (Dan) Sexton, Steve (Kim) Powell, Dean (Linda) Powell; 11 stepgrandchildren and 16 step great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014, at St. James Catholic Church, from 12:30 pm until 2 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 pm.
Burial will follow at Evergreen Gardens.
