Lemara Daisy Mays, a warm and dedicated homemaker, passed away on February 2, 2026, in Biloxi, Mississippi, at the age of 79. Born on January 16, 1947, in Columbus, Ohio, Lemara led a full life that was rich with love and passion.

A native of Columbus, she made the move to the Gulf Coast later in life. This transition allowed her the joy of being close to her grandchildren, whom she adored. Lemara was known for her quick wit and her ability to bring laughter to those around her.

Throughout her life, Lemara engaged in many hobbies and interests. She had a love for fishing and woodworking, showcasing her creativity and dedication in these crafts. Additionally, she enjoyed collecting rocks and arrowheads, a hobby that reflected her appreciation for nature and history. Lemara also had a talent for quilting, sewing, and painting, often pouring her heart into remodeling her home, which became a testament to her artistic flair.

Lemara leaves behind her two beloved sons, Bill Mays (Tara) and Lee Mays. Her grandchildren, William Mays II, Brigand Mays, and Milla Mays, were a source of immense pride and joy for her.

She is now reunited with her husband, Wallace LaRue Mays, as well as her parents, Robert and Corrine Hall. Lemara also joins her siblings, Jerry Hall, Norma Bailey, and Mary Henson, who preceded her in death.

Per Lemara's wishes, please do not send flowers as she will not be able to enjoy them now.
