Lela Mae Cuevas, age 79 of Gulfport, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018.
Mrs. Cuevas was born in Ollusti, OK, to Halem and Hattie Anderson Southerland. She was an avid reader, enjoyed car racing, and loved bowling. One of her favorite pastimes was swimming and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Paul Cuevas; her parents; sister, Ruby Langford; five brothers, Irbey, Johnny Doyle, Bill, Everett, and Zack; and granddaughter, Alisha Cuevas.
She is survived by her life partner, John Smith; son, Ron Cuevas (Jan); daughter, Cindy Cuevas Ratcliff (Rank); grandsons, James P. Ratcliff (Anna), Patrick Cuevas (Cheyenne), and Anthony Cuevas (Amber); granddaughter, Natasha Pierik (A.J.); 11 great grandchildren; brothers, R.L. Southerland and Marlin Southerland; and her extended family, Gary Lee Smith, Jennifer Landry, Jessica Cronn, Amber Lee Smith, Will Cuevas, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2018, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, from 5-7 p.m.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018, in the funeral home chapel at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
