Mr. Leighton McGuire Bond, age 87, of Gulfport, passed away on April 4, 2018 in Gulfport, MS.
He served as a Lieutenant in the US Marine Corps and he spent his career in Civil Service as an instructor and supervisor at Keesler Air Force Base in the Tech Training School. He retired in 1991 after many years of service. He was also a devoted member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church. Mr. Bond's life was dedicated to Christian Service and helping others.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Woody and Mary Bond; and one brother, Beeman Bond.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Louise Bond of Gulfport; two sons, Gregg Bond of New Orleans, LA, Ron Bond (Debbie) of Powder Springs, GA; and two grandchildren, Christie Swan (Matt) of Dallas, GA, and Matt Bond (Jessica) of Phoenix, AZ.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, April 9, 2018 at Grace Memorial Baptist Church, from 10-11 AM with funeral services at 11 AM. Interment will be held at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Grace Memorial Baptist Church, 2301 23 rd Ave., Gulfport, MS 39501 or St. Joseph Hospice, 1240 Broad Ave., Gulfport, MS 39501.
