Laura Hardwick Sharpe Giametta of Ocean Springs fulfilled her life commitment of 91 years by going to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 18, 2018.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Columbus J. Sharpe; her father, Benjamin F. Hardwick; her mother, Cassie McKinley Hardwick; her sons, Gary Lyn and Kenneth Ray Sharpe; and step-son, Christopher Giametta.
She is survived by her loving and most devoted husband of 32 years, Joseph A. Giametta; her daughter Laura Ann McCamley (Dan); her sons, C. Martin Sharpe (Cathy), Terry M. Sharpe (Doris), Fred D. Sharpe (Barbara), Ronald A. Sharpe (Paula), Donald M. Sharpe; step-daughter, Theresa Giametta Tolson (Michael); step-sons, Tony Giametta (Janet), Joe Giametta, Jr. (Susan); twelve grandchildren; eleven step-grandchildren; many, many great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and a wonderful group of extended family and friends.
She was blessed with the gift of being an excellent seamstress and served the community by having her seamstress and tailoring shop open for over 25 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Biloxi, where she served her Lord for over 35 years. She was involved in missions and mission projects, Laura served on various committees, and was most involved with her Bible Study Class. She considered it a privilege to serve her Lord.
The family would like to express extreme gratitude to her wonderful caregivers in the Hospice Care Unit. They displayed deep care to Laura and profound support for Joe.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name and in honor of her life to First Baptist Church of Biloxi, 1560 Popps Ferry Road, Biloxi, MS 39532 or to Arc of the Bay Ministry, 1804 Carolina Avenue, Lynn Haven, FL 32444.
The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 23, 2018 until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME,13872 Lemoyne Blvd.at Washington Ave., West Jackson County.
