Larry Eugene Smith, Sr. age 71 of Gulfport, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Smith and Lamerle Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Kim Bischof of Gulfport; his children, Larry (Karen) Smith, Jr of Biloxi and Tim (Ann) Smith of Biloxi; step children, Nicole Bischof of Biloxi, Eric Bischof of Johnstown, PA, and Elizabeth (Matt) Holder of Saucier; a brother, J. W. Smith of Woolmarket; grandchildren, Kaylen Smith, Michael Smith, Blayton Smith, Brendan Ferrer; step grandchildren, Marcus Carter of Gulfport and Kinley Anne Holder; great grandchild, McKenzie Smith; Matt Spicer who was like his son; and Phillip Cumberland, his best friend who was like a brother to him.
Larry retired after over 25 years of service from Bectal where he worked as a welding engineer. He enjoyed sprint car racing and the dirt track.
He was a member of Polar Star Masonic Lodge #154, Handsboro and a member of Coalville United Methodist Church, Woolmarket.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 4, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Coalville United Methodist Church, Woolmarket, with a visitation for family and friends from 10:00 AM until the service. Burial will follow at Coalville Cemetery.
