Larry Charles Horton, of Gulfport, passed away on August 1, 2026, with his beloved wife of 51 years, Rita M. Horton (Pacini), by his side.

Larry proudly served his country in the United States Army, including service in Germany. He was an excellent craftsman who took pride in his work and enjoyed golfing, spending time with family, and caring for those he loved.

Above all, Jerry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and foster father. He will be remembered for his love of family, his generosity, and the lasting impact he made on those who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene Knaunz Horton, and his father, Willis Jack Horton; sister, Naomi and Jacki, and grandchildren, Charles and Crystal.

Larry is survived by his wife, Rita M. Horton (Pacini); his sister, Holly; his children, Michelle, Christine, and Rick; his grandchildren, Stephanie, Amanda, Hunter, and Brooke; and his great-grandchildren, Taylor, Lacey, Sawyer, Addy, Stone, Eli, and Logan. He also leaves behind his beloved "fur son", Bazzle.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at Riemann Family Funeral Homes, 11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport, MS, from 12:00 PM until the funeral service at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery at 1:00 PM.

Larry's memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
