Larry Glydewell, age 77, of Kiln, Mississippi, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at the Biloxi VA Medical Center.

Larry was a lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, having lived in Orange Grove and Saucier before settling in Kiln upon retirement. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was a proud, dedicated member of the VFW Post in Kiln. Larry took great pride in his service and his continued involvement with fellow veterans. After Vietnam, Larry was certified through the MGCCC Communications Repair Program. He worked for BellSouth/AT&T for over 30 years, giving decades of devoted service before retiring.

Larry enjoyed gardening, staying active in his community, and spending time outdoors. One of his greatest joys for many years was camping and spending time on Red Creek, where he loved fishing, floating, and simply enjoying nature. He cherished time spent with his beloved wife and children and grandchildren.

In the past year, Larry found peace and comfort in his faith. He fell in love with Jesus and loved to share that he had peace with God and he was secure in where he was going, and was prepared.

Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Edith Wheat Glydewell; father, Maynard Joseph Glydewell; stepson, Charles P. Hosey; son-in-law, Harry C. Picco Jr.; step son-in-law, Jim Pace; and brother-in-law, Don Mabie.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Cleora “Ginger” Glydewell, of Perkinston, Mississippi, who was the sunshine of his life. Larry spent this past year dedicated to her care. His primary focus was always deeply cherishing their daily conversations, visits, and every moment they shared together.

He is also survived by his children, Joseph Glydewell of McHenry, Patrick Glydewell of McHenry, Jason Hosey of Wiggins, Jennifer Picco of Wiggins, Beth Burdeshaw-Pace of McHenry, John Hosey of Florida, Frederick Hosey, Jr. of Ohio and William and Natalie Hosey of Germany ; siblings: Sandra and Ken Dorn of Austin, TX, Jimmie and Bettye Glydewell of Carriere, Mary Mabie of Henley Field, MS, and Elaine Carroll of Baton Rouge, LA. He also leaves behind Allison McCombs who was one of the best friends to care for Ginger,

Larry leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Katie and Russell Glydewell of Virginia, Peyton Glydewell, Dylan Glydewell of Biloxi, Addison Grace Picco of Wiggins, MS, Nicholas R. Picco of Wiggins, MS, and Travis C. Picco of Wiggins; and great-grandchild Axel Glydewell. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who were dearly loved and close to his heart. He loved his grandchildren and looked forward to all of the visits they made to see him this past year.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of the Biloxi VA Medical Center, whose care during Larry’s final year was compassionate, professional, and deeply appreciated.
