Lacey Mitchell

Lacey Nashea Mitchell, age 46 of Ocean Springs, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim Mitchell and Vicki and Danny Brasher.

Lacey is survived by her brothers, Josh Mitchell, Patric Brasher, Brian Brasher; and her sister, Cheryl Brasher-Goff.

Lacey was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and graduated from Central High School. Following high school, she would make Ocean Springs her home. For twenty years, she worked as a cage cashier supervisor at the IP Casino, where she was known for her dedication and warm spirit.

Lacey had a deep love for the arts—reading, drawing, painting, and cooking brought her joy and peace. Art was not only her passion, but her way of expressing the beauty and emotion she carried inside.

To know Lacey was to love her. She had a heart full of kindness and compassion and never hesitated to offer a listening ear or a comforting word. Even in her own difficult moments, she always made sure those around her were doing okay. She truly didn’t have a mean bone in her body.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for the outpouring of love, kind words, and generous donations that are helping us honor Lacey with the farewell she so deeply deserves. Your support means more than words can say.
