Kimberly Louise Truett Balch of Gulfport, Mississippi, died peacefully surrounded by love on Sunday, January 3, 2016. She was born in Ocala, Florida, on February 22, 1966.
Kim graduated as the Salutatorian in 1983 from Osceola High School in Kissimmee, Florida, and received her bachelor's degree from the University of Florida, followed by graduate studies at the University of Central Florida. She was a Certified Public Accountant and worked in a variety of roles throughout her career prior to serving most recently as the CFO of Habitat for Humanity Mississippi Gulf Coast.
In addition to being a loving mother and devoted wife, she enjoyed a lifelong love of tennis, reading and movies. Kim had a love for all of God's creation, as well as an insatiable love for people. She was forever gracious and will be deeply missed by her large circle of family and friends throughout the country.
She is survived by her husband, Jackson McCaleb Balch, Jr.; daughter, Amelia Brooks Balch, of Gulfport; her parents, Jack Edward and Louise Brooks Truett, of Melbourne, FL; and brother, Jack Edward Truett, Jr., of Atlanta.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. James Catholic Church, Gulfport, on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at 1 pm with visitation from 11:30am to 12:55pm. A procession will follow with burial at Live Oak Cemetery in Pass Christian.
The family wishes to thank Garden Park Medical Center, Memorial Hospital at Gulfport Oncology and ICU, and especially Dr. Allison Wall.
