Kerman “K.C.” Albert Ladner, Sr., age 84, of Pass Christian, Mississippi, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the Biloxi VA Medical Center.
A native of the Fenton Community of Pass Christian, Kerman was a lifelong resident of Pass Christian. He was a high school graduate and later attended barber school, ultimately becoming self-employed and the owner of Ladner’s Barber Shop, where he served his community for many years.
Kerman proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he worked as a military policeman.
He was a man of simple joys and deep heart. Kerman loved animals, gospel music, and old country music, and he especially enjoyed playing the guitar and dobro. Music was central to who he was, and one of his greatest wishes was to teach his grandchildren how to play. He loved his animals and enjoyed caring for them each day. In his spare time, he found peace in carpentry and gardening, and he spent many years coaching Little League baseball for his sons. Kerman was also a faithful member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Pass Christian.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen “Janie” Ladner; his parents, Russell and Hazel Ladner; his brother, Paul D. Ladner; and his granddaughter, Haley Ladner.
He is survived by his children, Kerman “Kermie” Ladner, Jr. (Naomi), Jolene Ladner (Lenny), and Kyle Ladner (Angela); his sisters, Sarah Shiyou and Amy Pavolini (Tommy); his brothers, Billy Ray Ladner (Pat), Michael “Mike” Ladner, Sr. (Sandra), and Daron Ladner; his grandchildren, Jace Ladner (Morgan), Cody Ladner (Whitney), Lendon Ladner (Laura), Jaylen Ladner, Laila Ladner, and Lindy Ladner; and his great-grandchild, Kit Ladner.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff and caregivers at the Biloxi VA Community Living Center, with special thanks to Fr. Phil for his compassion and care.
