Kenny Alston, 56, of Gulfport, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2014.
Mr. Alston was preceded in death by his father, Arnold Alston; his grandparents, and his great grandparents, including his ""Grandaddy.""
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Carleen Alston; his mother, Marilyn Alston; his children, Rebecca (Steve) Craig of Boston, MA, Rachel Alston and Ryan Alston, both of Gulfport; his siblings, Kaye Alston and Kevin Alston, both of Gulfport; and his grandchildren, Braeden, Jacob, Elijah, and Henrick Craig.
He is a graduate of Gulfport East High School. Kenny worked for the City of Gulfport as a Surveyor in the Engineering Department for over 10 years. After working with the city, he started his own surveying business, Alston Surveying. As a young man he enjoyed racing dirt bikes and won many awards doing so. He also enjoyed tennis and was a member of Bayou Bluff Tennis Club where he served as an officer. His interests included riding his Harley Davidson and driving his Porsche. He loved to go fishing, play foosball, and listen to music.
There will be a visitation for family and friends on Thursday, August 14, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. The Funeral service will be held Friday, August 15, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Cowan Road Baptist Church in which the family will arrive promptly at service time. Burial will follow immediately following the service at Evergreen Gardens Cemetery. Everyone is invited to join the family for a reception in the church fellowship hall after committal services.
