Kenneth G. Zoldos, 81, MSgt. (Ret.), USAF, Logistics Engineer, passed away Monday, January 29, 2013.
Mr. Zoldos was a resident of Biloxi and Orlando, FL since he retired from the Air Force.
He was born in Masontown, PA and was raised and attended school in PA until he joined the U.S. Army in 1947. During his time in the Army, he served in Japan during the occupation. He later joined the U.S. Air Force and worked in Personnel until 1962, when he attended electronics school at Keesler AFB, and Electronic GE Factory Training in Syracuse, NY. He worked in the Logistics office at Keesler before he retired in 1970. During his military career he was stationed at bases throughout the U.S., Japan, the Philippines, and Germany.
He started his civilian careen working at Litton Ship Systems in Pascagoula. He later transferred to the Planning Research Corp. in FL, and worked as a logistics engineer at NASA on the space shuttle program. For the last twenty years he worked as a contract engineer for all the major companies developing military programs. He retired in 2005.
Ken loved to do research on a variety of projects and was a long time golfer, poker player, and a sports fan for all sports. As a golfer, he was proud of a certificate he received for a ""Hole in One"" during one of many golf tournaments. He will be missed by his family, friends, and fellow golfers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Kevin G. Zoldos of Biloxi, his daughter, Kathy (Bunny) Zoldos of New York; his siblings, John Zoldos, Jr. of PA, Dorothy Zoldos Henderson of FL, Velma Zoldos of Nevada, and Margie Zoldos Cardinale of New York
Survivors include his wife, Frances L. Zoldos of Biloxi, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice organization of your choice.
