Kenneth E. Parvin, Sr., 84, of Gulfport, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, in Gulfport.
Mr. Parvin was born in Jefferson County, AL, to Shirley and Lillian Stone Parvin. He was a longtime owner/operator of Ken's Ball and Cue in Gulfport. He was a 50 year veteran referee of high school, junior college, and college football, and was very involved in coaching little league and pony league baseball in Gulfport for 35 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Gulfport and First Baptist Church of Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Joyce Guess; his brother, S.A. Parvin; and his son-in-law, Richard Weaver.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Betty M. Parvin of Gulfport; children, Shirley Landrith (David) of Moss Point, Debbie Weaver of Pensacola, FL, Kenneth Parvin, Jr. (Sandra) of Brookhaven, Cindy Humphrey (Scott) of Oak Grove, MS, Janine Small (Kelly) of Pensacola, FL; siblings, Edith Cochrane of Arkansas, Ruth Raspilair of Gulfport, and Lee Stoffle of Atlanta; 8 grandchildren, Alan Landrith, Jennifer Jobin, Gabe Weaver, Phillip Humphrey, Rebecca Humphrey, Tyler Parvin, Tanner Parvin, and Audrey Small; and 2 great grandchildren, Tucker and Cooper Landrith.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2012, at First Baptist Church of Gulfport, from 10:00 a.m. until Noon. Funeral services will follow at Noon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Gulfport, Building Fund, 12190 Highway 605, Gulfport, MS 39503.
