Kenneth L. Brown

Kenneth L. Brown, born in Biloxi on May 13, 1929, went home to be with his mother, Helen Brown Marshall, father John Luther Brown, son, Keith Brown, and grandson, Ashton Pope on Thursday, October 24, 2013, at 5:00 p.m.

Mr. Brown was retired from the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne serving in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. Green Beret 7 Special Forces out of Fort Bragg. He retired on September 1, 1969 from the Army and joined the Biloxi Police Department for 16 years as city detective and first internal affairs officer for the city of Biloxi. He earned many awards, including officer of the quarter in 1981 and then retired in 1982. He later worked for Curtis Mathis and retired in 1995 as an electronics technician. Mr. Brown excelled in everything he did, was an amazing father, an extraordinary human being, and very best friend. Mr. Brown loved his coffee, loved cooking, travelling the world, and enjoyed friendships with many from all over. There will always be his famous quotes and jokes to get through the day. He loved a good laugh. Mr. Brown struggled with Alzheimer's for 15 years but fought until the end like a brave soldier on the field. He made us all very proud. He loved and was loved very very much.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 34 years, Natalie C. Brown; 4 children, Rebecca Lynn Brown, Kenneth L. Brown, Jr., Jacqueline Elizabeth Brown, Sarah Rene' Brown; 5 stepchildren, Angela Craft, Michael Scott, Stacy Scott, Matthew Scott, Houston Claudell Brown; 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
