Keith M. Van Doren

Keith M. Van Doren, age 93, of Gulfport, entered into eternal rest on January 29, 2025.

Keith was born to Katherine and Albert H. Van Doren of Royal Oak, MI. Keith was the husband of Evelyne L. Van Doren “Lynne”.

He was a twenty-six-year destroyer sailor, and recruit “Company Commander” training recruits. After Naval retirement, Keith was employed as a repair instructor and high pressure-boiler operator.

Lynne and Keith lived in Norfolk, VA,  Hampton, VA., and Crestview, FL., Keith hopes to join his beloved “Lynne” when his cremated remains are committed to the frosty brine. Keith’s daughter, Mrs. Katherine L. Yochum lives in Bath, NY.

A verse from the poem “Sea Fever” by John Masfield, Keith relays to all:

I must go down to the sea again, to the vagrant gypsy life. To the gull’s way and the whales way, where the winds are like a whetted knife. And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow rover. And quiet sleep and sweet dreams when the long trick’s is over.
