Keith Baker

Keith Baker, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, peacefully departed this world on May 27, 2025, in Long Beach, MS. Born on August 26, 1967, Keith lived a life marked by dedication, service, and an unwavering love for his family.

Keith honorably served in the United States Army from August 10, 1988, to August 7, 1992, where he made significant contributions as a tank driver in the 2nd Brigade, 1st Armored Division during Operation Desert Storm. His courageous actions were instrumental in the Iron Brigade’s success against Iraqi armed forces, particularly in the reduction of Al Busayyah and the destruction of the Medina Republican Guards. For his service, Keith received numerous accolades, including the Army Lapel Button, the Army Commendation Medal, the Service Ribbon, the Kuwait Liberation Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Overseas Service Medal, and the Southwest Asia Service Medal with three bronze service stars.

A warm-hearted individual, Keith had a passion for cooking, grilling, and shopping, which brought joy not only to himself but also to those around him. He cherished the time spent with family and friends, often bringing them together over a meal he prepared with love and expertise.

Keith is survived by his devoted wife of 19 years, Donna Baker, who will forever hold his memory close. He is also remembered by his stepchildren, Brenda M. Kleinsmith (Telse Mungia), Bryan M. Kleinsmith (Rebecca Toll), and Brandon M. Kleinsmith. Keith shared a special bond with his sister, Margaret Baker, of Florida, and was a proud uncle to his nephew, Lev Wolf, also of Florida. He took immense joy in being a grandfather to his beloved grandchildren: Patrick, Devin, Caleb, Neici, Timothy, Wyatt, Samuel Kleinsmith, and Elizabeth Darling.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard L. Baker and Carrol L. Baker, whose memories will forever be intertwined with his legacy.

Keith Baker will be remembered not only for his brave service to his country but also for the warmth and love he shared with his family and friends. His presence in our lives will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
