Kay Pringle Semski

September 16, 1934 — March 19, 2024

Biloxi, MS

Kay Frances Pringle Semski of Biloxi, Mississippi was called home to glory on March 19, 2024. She graced the world with her elegance and beauty for 89 remarkable years.

Kay was born in Biloxi and attended Sacred Heart Academy, graduating as a member of the "Crew of 52". Pursuing further education, Kay attended Hotel Dieu School of Nursing in New Orleans, Louisiana. In 1956, she married the love of her life, Lawrence Semski, and together they raised their family on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Kay became a fixture in Biloxi, not just to her husband and six children, but to the community at large. She was active with Nativity parish throughout her lifetime. She remained devoted to her profession as a registered nurse, skillfully caring for newborn babies and mothers at Howard Memorial Hospital (later Biloxi Regional Hospital). Her indelible impact on her family and friends will continue to reveal itself as cherished memories of "Kay", "Mrs. Semski", "Aunt Kay", and "Mimmi" pass through future generations.

Kay is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry; her mother, Edna Grueling Pringle; her father, Frank E. Pringle Jr.; her stepmother, Bertha Egan Pringle; her brothers, William Pringle, and Reed Pringle; and nephew, Blair Pringle. Kay is survived by her brother, Frank Pringle (Mary); sisters-in-law, Becky Pringle and Robin Pringle; her children, Lauren S. Wahl, Shellie Semski O'Keefe (Dennis), Victoria S. Compton (Mark), Lawrence P. Semski, Edna Marian Semski, and Matthew P. Semski (Sheriee). She leaves behind 14 adoring grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; beloved nieces and nephews, along with a close-knit group of friends. Kay will be missed by many.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 25, 2024, at Nativity B.V.M. Cathedral, 870 Howard Avenue, Biloxi.  Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. followed by a mass at noon.  A light luncheon will be offered at the Sacred Heart Center auditorium immediately following the funeral mass.  A private burial will follow at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in her memory to the Nativity School Foundation, P.O. Box 453, Biloxi, MS 39533.
