Kathy Black Holland, age 58, of Waveland, passed away Monday, June 1, 2014.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lera Black; and her sisters, Denise Hagan and Rhonda Sweeney.
Kathy is survived by her husband, of 33 years, W. Larry Holland of Waveland; her daughter, Kitty Leigh Holland of Waveland, her step-daughters, Amy McFerrin of Old Hickory, TN, and Leslie (Keith) Hamlin of Fayetteville, TN; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Kathy received a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN. She was employed in the Human Resource Departments of many companies, hospitals, manufacturing and aerospace. Kathy worked with Congressman Gene Taylor and managed his office in Bay St. Louis after Hurricane Katrina. She was currently the Executive Secretary to the CEO of the Silver Slipper Hotel.
Kathy was a loving wife and mother who cherished her days of rearing her daughter, Kitty. She was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church, Bay St. Louis, an officer for the Arts of Hancock County and an artist who did mosaic and copper tooling.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2015 from 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM at the Mainstreet United Methodist Church, Bay St. Louis. The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the church with a visitation from 10:00 AM until the service. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Wright's Cemetery, Fayetteville, TN.
