Mrs. Kathryn Jermyn Hutsenpiller, age 68, of Waleska, Georgia passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Kathryn was born November 13, 1947 in Gulfport, Mississippi to Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Jermyn.
She was a 1965 graduate of Gulfport High School and a 1967 graduate of Perkinston Junior College in Perkinston, Mississippi. She was employed by the Cherokee and Pickens County School Systems for many years as a paraprofessional.
She was a faithful servant in the Jasper United Methodist Church, serving with the Youth Group, United Methodist Women, the Dorcas Circle and the Lunch Bunch. Kathryn was an active member of the Appalachia Cattlemen and did fundraising for 4-H and FFA scholarships.
Kathryn had a tremendous love for her faith, her church, and her family. She was gifted in many areas and loved cooking, painting, sewing, and needlework.
Kathryn was predeceased by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Jermyn from Gulfport, Mississippi.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Bill Hutsenpiller of Waleska; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Rob Lively of Dalton, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Brooke Hutsenpiller of Nashville, TN; granddaughters, Emma Lively of Dalton, GA, Anna James Hutsenpiller of Nashville, TN and Lydia Hutsenpiller of Nashville, TN; grandsons, Ian Lively of Dalton, GA; Tharp Hutsenpiller of Nashville, TN; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorris and Butch Prather of Nashville, TN; Betty and Tal Flurry of Long Beach, MS; sister, Elizabeth Fortenberry of Long Beach, MS; and nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Jasper United Methodist Church with Reverend Greg Meadows and Reverend Max Caylor officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
