Obituary

Kathleen A. Wilson of Long Beach, Mississippi passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026, in Gulfport, Mississippi with her family at her side. Kathy was born on August 25, 1949, in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Kathy was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and beloved husband, Larry Wilson; son, Eric Wilson; parents, LeRoy and Helen Holsapple; brothers, Kenny Jessen and Mike Holsapple; and grandparents, Theodore and Marie Schmidt, Carland Ruth Christensen, Jess and Myrtle Holsapple.

She is survived by her children, Aaron Wilson [Aimee] of Long Beach, Mississippi and Scott Wilson [Tracy] of Apple Valley, Minnesota; her six grandchildren, Alexis, Carter, Sullivan, Evan, Sophia, and Kourtlyn; sibling, David Holsapple; numerous nieces and nephews; and former daughter-in-law, Marci Wilson of Gulfport, Mississippi.

Kathy was a teacher for second grade students at Harper McCaughan Elementary. She had over twenty years of teaching. She enjoyed lighting up the room and having her students shoot for the stars.

Kathy was very involved at Grace Lutheran Church and enjoyed giving back to the community in many ways.

Upon her retirement, she dedicated her day-to-day activities to watching her grandkids and chasing them around with activities that they loved to do.

Knowing Kathy, she always knew how to light up a room and make people smile with her infectious laugh.

Visitation will be held 9:00 am - 10:00 am, Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the Grace Lutheran Church, Long Beach, with a funeral service at 10:00 am.

Interment is at the Biloxi National Cemetery, Monday, June 15, 2026, at 9:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, the Wilson family would prefer donations to be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 19221 Pineville Road, Long Beach, MS 39560.

Riemann Family Funeral Home, Long Beach, is assisting the Wilson family.
