Kathleen Casper

Kathleen Kells' Hurlburt Casper, born on March 12, 1934, in Biloxi, was called home to Heaven by God on Saturday, October 3, 2015. She left this earth at the age of 81.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Etta Dean Turle Hurlbut; her father, Adrian Fucher Hurlbut; her stepfather, Adam Salkowski Sr. her sister, Lucille Becker; her husband, Anthony (Link) Joseph Casper Sr.(2011); her daughter, Karen Leah Slamans Casper (2006); her son, Benjamin (Benny) Joseph Casper II (2015) and her daughter-in-law, Karin Maria Piatek Casper (2015).
She is survived by her sisters, Gloria Freche and Eva Carol Howell; her brother, Adam Salkowski; her daughter, Cynthia Ann Casper and her two sons, Anthony (Tony) Joseph Casper, Jr. (Gail) and Steven Paul Casper Sr.; her daughter-in-law, Theresa Blackledge Casper. Family was most important to her and she also leaves behind 26 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Her legacy will live on forever. She was our rock and never too busy for any of us. She will be remembered for her youthful beauty not only physically but also in mind and soul, her love for the beach, and her love for music, writing, gardening, painting, genealogy, singing, and the Bible. She took pride in the unconditional love she instilled in her family.
She is an inspiration to all who knew her. She is our strength and support and will always be our best Mama in the whole world. She taught us love, understanding, honesty, compassion and a strong religious faith. Mama will always be remembered as the Casper Matriarch. She is forever loved and will be greatly missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 9, 2015, at 1pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Gulfport. Burial will follow at Southern Memorial Park in Biloxi.
