Katherine Tompkins McMahan

Katherine Tompkins McMahan, 87, born November 26, 1928 in Vicksburg, MS to Andrew U. Tompkins and Lois Magnon Tompkins, lived most of her life on the MS Gulf Coast in Gulfport, Pass Christian and Biloxi, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016 in Gulfport.
She was preceded in death by parents, her brothers Andrew Tompkins, Jr., William Dorsey Tompkins and Edwin M. Tompkins, Aunt Gladys Todd, grandson Travis Camradelle and infant daughter Mary Ellen McMahan.
She is survived by her sons, Paul G. McMahan, Jr. (Cheryl), Andrew M. McMahan, Sr. (Nancy) and Michael T. McMahan; granddaughter, Laura Kaye Smart (Jeremy); grandsons, Andrew and Justin McMahan; great-granddaughter, KayeLynn; and great-grandson, Cannon.
Mrs. McMahan graduated from Gulfport High School, Class of 1946. She retired from Hancock Bank in 1989, and she was a member of St. Peter's By the Sea Episcopal Church in Gulfport.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11am, Wednesday, March 9th at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach, followed by the funeral service at 11am. Burial will be at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport. Tributes may be offered at www.riemannfamily.com.
