Katherine E. "Bet" Malley Ladner, a lifelong resident of Standard Dedeaux, went home to be with her Lord on December 31, 2017.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jason Ladner, Sr.; son, Paul Ladner; parents, Francis and Ledia Pavolini Malley; siblings, Nathaniel Malley, Francis Malley, Jr., Ethel Peterson, Hazel Austin, Erma Lee Saucier and Patsy Holley.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jason Jr. and Carol Ladner; grandson and wife, Shawn and JoAnn Ladner; great granddaughters, Lauryn Ladner and Raven Ladner; sister, Rena Davis; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Ladner was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church. She retired from Maybelle Manufacturing in Gulfport, MS after many years of dedicated service as a seamstress and supervisor.
Her passion in life was her love of cooking for others and making sure no one ever left her home or any outing hungry. She was a very loving, compassionate, kind and caring wife, mother, granny, godmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She was definitely blessed with a servant's heart. She never met a stranger, had a heart of gold and loved everyone. She will always be remembered for her sweet smile, her giving heart, her unconditional love, her sweet spirit and last but not least, her delicious food she loved to prepare and share with everyone.
A special thank you to Notre Dame Hospice and the many nurses and CNA's who have become like family to us, Ms Mary and Chaplain Richard. Your love, compassion and words of encouragement will be forever cherished and remembered.
