Katerina Galanis, age 72 of D’Iberville, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Christofas and Kostantina Koulmandas; her son, Andras Galanis; and her beloved dog, Paco.

Katerina is survived by her brother, Stratos Mandas and her daughter, Christina Galanis.

She was raised in Sudan, Africa, and moved to the United States in 1980. Over the years, she made her home in New York and Florida before settling most recently in Mississippi.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially tending to her garden and preparing meals for her family. She also enjoyed making pottery, baking, and occasional visits to the casino. Above all, she treasured the time she spent with her family and friends.

Her faith was an important part of her life, and she was a devoted member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Biloxi, where she found community and spiritual comfort.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Biloxi, with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Southern Memorial Park Cemetery.
