Karry Kathleen Galey

Karry Kathleen Galey, age 59, of Biloxi, Mississippi, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2023.

Karry was a native of Los Alamitos, California where she graduated from Los Almitos High School where she ran track.  She was a former forestry technician at the U.S. Forest Service from 1984-2006.  She was also a crewman at CCC (California Conservation Corps).  Karry was a trail crew foreman, recreation supervisor, wildland fire fighter, OHV foreman, level 2, Law enforcement, Security manager and wild petrol chainsaw specialist.  She also worked for AmeriCorps by training troubled children in the field trail work.  Karry assisted during Hurricane Katrina by helping clean up homes.  She had a love for pets.

Karry loved life to the fullest and was loved by all family, friends, and her partner.

Karry was preceded in death by her parents, Larry Wayne Potter, and Nancy Ann Potter (Spore).  She is survived by her best friend and partner of 17 years, Thomas Wheeler; her son, Joey Colvin (Laura); her grandchildren Dixie and Wyatt Colvin, of Hemet, California; her siblings, Steve Potter of La Habra, CA, Penny Potter Cox of Hemet, CA, and Sheryl Holder of Garden Grove, CA.  She is also survived by the sibling of her partner, T.J. Wheeler (Erica) of Gulfport, Mississippi; and the grandchildren of Thomas Wheeler, Presly Wheeler, Grayson Wheeler, Sawyer Wheeler, and Addison Holland.

A celebration of Karry's life will be held at later date in California.
