KarenAnn Kristiane Samuelson

KarenAnn Kristiane Samuelson, 78, passed away on July 12, 2023, in Gulfport, MS. She was born on December 15, 1944, in Duluth, Minnesota. Karen grew up on a farm before moving to Proctor, Minnesota, and later to Oregon and California. She worked as a Purchasing Agent at Berkley Bank of California and also taught ceramics classes in Minnesota. More recently, she served as the Activities Coordinator at the Woolmarket Senior Center.

KarenAnn had a passion for cooking and was known for the culinary skills she learned in Italy, where her and her husband were stationed. She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church, where she was very active in fellowship activities and cooking. Karen's love for travel took her to various countries, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Italy, as she accompanied her husband, Harry V. Samuelson, Jr., during his time in the Navy.

KarenAnn’s parents, Earl William Nettleton and Doris Kirkeng Nettleton, preceded her in death.

KarenAnn is survived by her husband, PNCM (SW), Harry V. Samuelson, Jr. (USN Retired); and their children, Harry V. Samuelson, III of Grand Forks, ND, Noel C. Samuelson (Suzanne) of Clearwater, FL, and Lanay L. Kane (Seth) of Chicago, IL. She is also survived by grandchildren, Darien Samuelson, Karilynn Samuelson, Harry Victor Samuelson IV, Richard Bright, Raymond Bright, Angela Bjoholm; five great-grandchildren; and her brother, Dennis Nettleton (Patricia) of Proctor, MN.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2023, from 2:00 to 3:00 pm at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Rd. Biloxi, MS 39531.

The funeral service will take place on Friday, July 21, 2023, at 11:00 am with visitation 10:00-11:00 am at Grace Lutheran Church, 19221 Pineville Rd, Long Beach, MS. Rev. David Parr will officiate. Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery, 400 Veterans Ave. Biloxi, MS.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grace Lutheran Church in Long Beach.
