Karen Orrels

Karen Faye Perry Orrels, age 75, of Gulfport, passed away on January 19, 2017, at Keesler Medical Center, Biloxi, MS.
She was preceded in death by her father, Worlie "Jack" Perry, her mother, Edith Jones, her step-father, Gerald Jones, and a brother, Gregory Perry.
Survivors include her loving husband of 54 years, Melton Orrels, Sr., her children, Teresa Orrels Calcote-Biggs and her husband, Richard Biggs, and Milton Orrels and his wife, Dianna Orrels, her step-mother, Mary Reinshield, her siblings and their spouses, Sandra and Gerald McGuire, Judith and Denis DuVall, Jeff and Nancy Jones, and Carol and Larry McCoy, 5 grandchildren, Cade Calcote, Ashley Calcote, Carl "CJ" Orrels, Emily Biggs, Meghan Biggs, 5 grand dogs, Sable, Nemesis, Hunter, Buddy, Luke, Beau, and Mystique, close friends and family, Donnie and Mary Pierson, lifetime friend, Charnell Barthel, and best friend, Jeanette Miller.
Mrs. Orrels was a native of Defiance, Ohio and a graduate of Defiance High School Class of 1961. She served as Past Noble Grand of the Gulfport Rebekah Lodge, Past President of the Mississippi Rebekah Assembly, and was serving her second term as President of the Mississippi Rebekah Assembly. She also received the Medallion Award from the Sovereign Grand Lodge. At the time of her death, Karen was Patriarch of Goodwill Encampment and holding the position of Scribe. Additionally, she was serving as Secretary of the Gulfport Rebekah Lodge No. 43 and a member of the Independent Order of Oddfellows and Rebekah's.

A memorial service will be held Saturday January 28, 11:00 am , at the Gulfport IOOF Rebekah Lodge, 2515 23rd Avenue, Gulfport, MS 39501.
