Obituary

Karen McKinley, age 61, of Waveland, Mississippi, passed away on July 6, 2026.

Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Karen made her home in Waveland, where she was known for her warm heart, infectious laughter, and deep love for her family and friends. She was a graduate of Bonnabel High School, where she proudly served as a majorette. Karen later worked as a bartender at the VFW Lakeshore, where she built many lasting friendships over the years.

Karen embraced life with enthusiasm. She loved celebrating Mardi Gras, cheering on the New Orleans Saints, enjoying crawfish and muffalettas, and, above all, spending time with her family. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Veda Genna; her father, Cecil McKinley; her sisters, Susan McGuire and Kim McKinley; her beloved friend, Randall K. "Big Randy" Williams; her nephew, Justin McGuire; and her nieces, Natasha Blanke and Vanessa Mauffray.

Karen leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory, including her children, Randall Williams of Bay St. Louis and Cecilia Williams of Metairie; her brother, Frank McKinley; her sister, Darlene Deschamp; and her cherished grandchildren, Bryce Tardiff, Brek Williams, and Riley Williams.

She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including Autumn Fiorello, Ashley Carr, Amber Giroir, Victoria McKinley, Frank McKinley, Cody Girois, Victor Mauffray, and Conner Williams, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her greatly.

Karen was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She brought joy, laughter, and love wherever she went. Though she is gone, she will never be forgotten. Her love and spirit will continue to live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew and loved her.
