Karen Creel Leary, age 67, of Long Beach, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2013.
Karen was born to Cecil Berry Creel, Sr. and Laura Clare Thompson Creel in Biloxi. She graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in Bay St. Louis and was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Long Beach. She was a hard-working mother who devoted her love and time to her family and friends. Taking care of others was foremost in her life, and she was eternally optimistic and saw the ""good"" in all things and all people. She will be remembered as the rock of her family driven by a strong Catholic faith and commitment.
She was preceded in death by parents.
She is survived by her children, Timothy K. Leary, Jr. of Gulfport, Patrick T. Leary (Kathryn) of Biloxi, Gannon M. Leary (Robin) of Mobile, and Colleen C. Leary of Houston, TX; siblings, Diane Peranich of DeLisle, Cecil Creel, Jr. of Ocean Springs, and Laura Meadows of Gulfport; grandchildren, Aislyn Leary, Abigail Leary, and Camille Leary.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held two hours prior.
Burial will follow at Long Beach City Cemetery.
