Karen Ann Hancock, age 63, a resident of Gulfport, passed away Friday, February 12, 2016.
She was born and raised in Gulfport. She loved the New Orleans Saints, WWE, and NASCAR, especially Dale Jr. She loved music and worked as a disk jockey. We would like to offer a special thank you to Gulf Shores Day Care for helping Karen gain back her independence.
Karen was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Hancock, Sr.; parents, John L. Elliott, Sr. and Lillian Staples Elliott; and siblings, John L. Elliott Jr., Marion Connor, Robert A. ""Bobby"" Elliott, and Thomas K. ""Tom"" Elliott Sr.
She is survived by her children, Pamela M. Elliott of Saucier and James R. Hancock, Jr. of Gulfport; siblings, Arthur F. ""Frank"" Elliott, Sr. of Nevada, William E. ""Bill"" Elliott, Sr. of Houston, TX, David E. Elliott of Cleburne, TX, and Linda C. Elliott of Jackson, MS; sister-in-laws, Mary Joyce Seymour of Gulfport, and Wilma Doris Stewart of Saucier; grandchildren, Steven A. Thomas II, and Leigha M. Thomas of Saucier; nieces; nephews; and extended family.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport. There will be a funeral service held at 10 AM on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at 2:30 PM in Springhill Cemetery, Soso, MS.
