Karen Lee Geeding, age 66, left this life to begin her journey anew in Heaven on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at her home in Gulfport, MS, where she was surrounded by her family.
She was born on August 29, 1951 in Dayton, Ohio. Karen spent her life as a devoted mother, wife, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was committed to the care of her family, and was known as "Nanny" to everyone that knew her. She spent most of her time caring for children in her home, which she enjoyed most of all.
She was preceded in death by her parents Roland Wilbur Nevin and Vena Mavis Flynt Nevin; her husband, Donald Millard Geeding; her sister, Scarlett Anne Nevin Ladner; and her great-grandson, Mason Daniel Price.
She leaves behind her long-time partner, Johnny Revelle; her older brother, James "Jimmy" Nevin; her younger sister, Candy Flynt-Bearor and her husband, Steve; Her son, John Garriga Jr. and daughter, Barbara Garriga, and their father John Garriga Sr.; Her grandsons, Justin (Haylee) Price, Trey Garriga, and Jaxton Garriga; Her great-grandsons, Micah and Manning Price; Her nephew, Chris (Wendy) Cuevas; her nieces, Melissa (Kris) Helton, Leanne (Brenil) Duckworth, Meghan (Todd) Barrette, Emily Bearor and Katelyn Bearor; Her great-nephews, Hayden Helton, Aidan Helton, Aaron Lind, Silas Duckworth, and Mason Barrette; and her great-nieces, Elisa Helton, Amanda Ley, Abigail Barrette, Lexi Helton, Olivia Duckworth and Lillyann Gill.
A brief memorial will be held at the VA Biloxi National Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 16 th . A celebration of life will be held at 23047 Belmont Place, Gulfport MS 39503 immediately following the burial. The family would like to ask for donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in lieu of flowers.
