Mrs. Kae Luan Ward, 81 of Diamondhead, passed away Monday, October 16, 2017, in Omaha, NE.
Kae was born to Ted and Esther (Hodges) Elder on October 25, 1935. She attended Macomb High School where she met the love of her life, Gerald Ward. Her primary life goal was to have a happy family home. This life goal became reality when they married in 1955 after a four year courtship. This pairing led to the birth of their children, Elizabeth, Scott and Dan. This adventure began in Fort Sill, OK. The young couple lived in many locations including Macomb, Morton and Peoria, IL. Kae was the rock of support for Gerald when his position called for him to work in Brussels, Belgium and Singapore. Kae and Gerald moved to Diamondhead, MS to reflect on retirement. Kae lived in Diamondhead until her recent move to Omaha, NE.
Kae's greatest accomplishments were reflective of her life goal for a happy family and home. She was the Queen of Adaptation as she demonstrated that all of our situations could be made better by planning and attitude. She was the CEO of the family as she kept the family happy and supportive when Gerald was away with work. She was a fabulous mother who passed on her emotional intelligence to her children allowing them to become the wonderful people we are today. We are so grateful she was in our lives.
Mrs. Ward was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald L. Ward; parents, Ted and Esther Hodges Elder; and brother, Teddy Max Elder.
She is survived by children, Beth (Mike) Skeen of Diamondhead, Scott (Kathleen) Ward of Omaha, NE and Dan (Cathy) Ward of Dallas, TX; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Jane Ward; and several nieces and a nephew.
A Celebration of Life will take place for family and friends at Diamondhead Community Church at 10 am Friday, November17, 2017. RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL Home, 9113 Kiln Delise Road, Pass Christian served the family. Memories may be shared at www.riemannfamily.com.
