On Friday, January 3rd, 2014, June Ladner passed peacefully with the same gracefulness that she lived her precious life. She was surrounded by her loving family in her Pass Christian home. June battled Pulmonary Fibrosis for the past 6 months. She was 84 years old and lived each year fully.
June was cared for by her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Herman Ladner, Jr. (Debra), Judy Dyer (Rick), and Jan Phillips (Buster). Her grandchildren, Darren, Kristie, Jill and Philman Ladner, Wesley and Hunter Phillips and Jana Phillips Jackson, her great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Bill and Gerald Shaw.
June was preceded in death by her parents, Eunice and Johnson Shaw, brothers: Carl and Calvin.
June was a nurturing, loving soul who truly lived her life for others. She graciously cared for everyone she knew. She was an amazing mother, grandmother ""Mee-Maw"" and friend to many. She was a woman with a loving heart and a strong faith.
Friends may visit at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Long Beach on Monday, January 6th from 2 - 4 P.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 4 P.M. Family and friends are invited to join in a reception to continue the celebration of June's life.
June's family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Allison Wall, the staff ""angels on earth"" at Gentiva Hospice and all who have cared for her throughout her journey.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to a memorial garden at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dedeaux, 14595 Vidalia Rd, Pass Christian, in memory of June where she began her Catholic faith or to the Coalition for Pulmonary Fibrosis, 10866 W. Washington Blvd #343, Culver City, CA 90232.
