June Carpenter Jarred, age 74, of Long Beach and formerly of Arizona, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2013.
Mrs. Jarred was born in New Orleans to William Louis and Hilda Amy Klein Carpenter in 1938. She was a former of resident of Benson, AZ. After raising five daughters, June went received certification and went to work as a certified nursing assistant. She was an avid gardener and dog lover.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Kyzmi ""Kay"" Rose Smith Allen and Gwendolyn Smith Arnold.
She is survived by her daughters, Belinda Smith Ryle of Long Beach, Cynthia Smith Mcardle of Lake Alfred, FL, and Charlotte Smith Messler of Jackson, MS; siblings, Lorraine Lester of New Orleans, and William Carpenter, II of New Orleans; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her faithful companion, ""Lucy"".
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2013, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, at 5:00 p.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the church.
