June Gillis Hunt

June Gillis Hunt was born in Adrian, Georgia on March 27, 1922, and passed away at the age of 93 on March 13, 2016 in Gulfport, Mississippi.
A resident of Gulfport since 1924, Mrs. Hunt was a graduate of Gulfport High School (Class of 1940), Gulf Park College in Long Beach, MS, and The University of Mississippi, Oxford, MS. She was a founding member of Trinity United Methodist Church, former member of Gulfport Yacht Club, Great Southern Country Club, charter member of Sunkist Country Club, past president of the Junior Woman's Club, charter and lifetime member of the Junior Auxillary, Four Seasons Garden Club, and Merry Maskers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glee Gillis and Mary Drake Gillis, her brother, Hyatt Quinette Gillis, her sister, Barbara Gillis Snelling, her daughter, Susan Hunt Watts, and her beloved husband of sixty-four years, James Edward Hunt, Sr.
Mrs. Hunt is survived by her loving and devoted son and daughter-in-law, James Edward Hunt, Jr and Diane Majure Marusak Hunt, three grandchildren: Robert Jason Hunt (Amanda), Jerrod Scott Hunt (Lisa), Sheri Michele Watts, three step-grandchildren: Jennifer Marusak LaMartina (Angelo), Andrew Vincent Marusak, IV (Theresa), Jessica Marusak Jones, and seven great-grandchildren: Andrew, Ethan, Katelyn, Cullen, Skylar, Colter, and Madison, and her sister-in-law, Gloria Mannino Gillis.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church, with funeral service at 11:00 AM. Graveside burial will take place immediately following the service at Southern Memorial Park in Biloxi, MS.
