Judy is survived by her loving husband of 17 years, Dr. Allen L. Deen, she will be forever missed; her children, Wade (Cindy) Morgan, Scott (Mel) Morgan, Beverly (David) Ernst, Gayle Deen Ladnier, and Lisa Deen (Jay) Duggins; her grandchildren, of Wade, Amy (Jamie), Jenny (Dallas), and Leah; of Scott, Jason (Lea), and Sommer (Steven); of Beverly, Cindy (Adrian), and Katherine; of Gayle, Jacob (Sabyn), Eijah, Rachel (Zachary), Joel, and Sarah; of Lisa, Sam, and Ame; her great-grandchildren, of Amy, Liam and Riley; of Jenny, Marlee, and Lainey; of Jason, Blaine and Brynn; of Sommer, Ava, Isabella, and Jackson; and of Jacob, Lyrin.
Judy was born in Hemmel, Hempstead, England. She and her sister survived the World War II bombings of London and were part of the evacuation out of London as children. They were put on a train with no destination but were chosen by a farming family at one of the many stops to live until safe to return to their family in London.
She went to nursing school in England and earned her diploma by taking classes at Cambridge. She continued her pursuit of education and gained a Bachelor's in Nursing from William Carey College, a Master's Degree in Adult Education from the University of Southern Mississippi, and finished her life long journey of educational triumph by obtaining her Family Nurse Practitioner at the University of South Alabama, the same year she qualified for social security a mere 65 years young.
Judy worked in many positions during her long career but was most proud of her work with the Gulfport Schools as their School Nurse. She applied for grants and opened the first early childhood nursery in the school system giving a loving and safe place for children to be cared for while their young mothers returned to school.
Judy is best remembered for her quick wit and firecracker personality. A true red head, fiery, fierce, protecting, and devoted. Judy was selfless in her acts of compassion, always wanting to ensure the less fortunate were given a chance to experience the love a grandmother's caring, non-judgmental heart.
Judy made an impact on everyone she met and went through life happy and entertaining. Her early years of being on stage and working with theater gave her endless stories to tell. She will be greatly missed but has passed on her spirit to those who knew her and we are better for having loved her.
Our greatest hope and comfort is that she is now safely in the arms of our Lord and back in company with her sister, Gillian, and mother, Nan whom she missed so terribly.
And as her granddaughter Cindy posted, "Quick, round up a crowd to give a thunderous applause - she never missed a bow."
Alas, the bow was to be shared with the angels in heaven - sleep per chance to dream.
