Judith Bates Pique passed away on Friday, November 25, 2016, in Gulfport. Born at Kings Daughters Hospital on December 1, 1944, she was raised in Pass Christian and went to Catholic Schools in Biloxi and Pass Christian. Moving to Baton Rouge in her teen years, she graduated from Glen Oaks High School.
Judy was an artist and had an acute eye for detail. Having worked as a floral designer for Walmart, she retired to take care of her mother who had Alzheimer's. She loved to create beautiful floral and wedding designs and painted many floral and sea scapes for family. Judy was the caregiver for the family and never said, ""No"", to anyone.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents Charles L. Bates and Betty Wise Bates, and her two brothers, Mitchell and Charles L. Bates Jr.
She is survived by her son, Kevin (Roni) Hanks, Baton Rouge, LA; her daughter, Stacey (Kirk) Neely, Kansas City, MO; her grandchildren, Hannah and Evan Neely of Kansas City, MO; and her sisters, Sissy Bates Brattain and Cathy Bates (Keith) Mitchell.
Services will be held at St. Paul Catholic Church Chapel, Scenic Drive, Pass Christian, Friday Dec. 2, 2016, where friends and family may visit 9:30 a.m. until service time at 10:30 a.m.
Interment will follow at Live Oak Cemetery.
