Juanita Burrows

Juanita Roberts Burrows, of Long Beach, MS, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, in Allen, TX, at the age of 91.

Juanita was born to Houston and Neta Roberts on August 20, 1932. She grew up in Marion County and moved to the Coast and would call Pass Christian, Pineville Community, home. Later she moved to Long Beach, and the last two years in Texas.

Juanita was a longtime member of Riverside Baptist Church and later, First Baptist Church of Long Beach. Her relationship with God was pure and unwavering.

Juanita enjoyed reading her Bible and gardening, which always flourished from her love and devotion.  Her second past time was sewing and making quilts by hand for each of her children.

When asked what was her most important job in life, she replied, “Being a mother.”  Juanita unselfishly and tirelessly, gave every ounce of love and dedication to being a mother. Her legacy will live on in her children for generations to come. “If it’s worth doing, then it’s worth doing right.”

She was preceded in death by her father, William Houston Roberts; her mother, Neta Roberts; her ex-husband and father of her children, Rawley Burrows; her sisters, Mary Lambert, Helen Smith, Doris Neal, Catherine Smith, and Lessie May Roberts; daughter-in-law, Lisa Burrows; and great-grandson, Dylan Boyd.

She is survived by her 5 children, Sandra Rheinfrank (Uwe), Robert Keith Burrows, Kimberly Boyd (Nate), Elizabeth Burrows and Kathleen Burrows; her 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; her siblings, Irene Ladner, Inez Garriga, Pearl Dubussion and Virgie Favre; and a host of other loving family members and friends.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Rozina Kifle and all of the caregivers at Joyful Living of Allen, TX, and Icon Hospice, for their love and tenderness extended to their mama in her final years. Her battle with dementia is finally won.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Foundation of America (www.alzfdn.org).
