Joyce Mae Hill, age 75, of Long Beach, MS passed peacefully from this life on Sunday, June 19, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Everette and Ruby Tate Hill; and three uncles, G. C. Hill, William Thurman Tate, Sr., and Paul Dixon Tate.
She is survived by her aunt, Ruth Tate Swofford, several cousins, and numerous friends.
Joyce worked for Stevenson Industries in Winston Salem, NC until she retired to Long Beach to be closer to family. Following her move to Long Beach, she worked briefly at the Seabee Base in childcare and housing. She was mischievous, quick witted and was loved by all who knew her. Joyce loved people and she loved animals of all kinds. She was artistic and spent many hours with her friends at the Long Beach Senior Citizen's Center. Joyce attended First United Methodist Church of Long Beach, where she was a board member of the Older Adult Kindred Spirits (OAKS) and enjoyed helping with the biannual rummage and bake sale. She was an avid reader and a diehard New Orleans Saints fan.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, June 24, 2016 at First United Methodist Church of Long Beach. A celebration of life service will follow at 10:00 a.m. in the sanctuary.
