Joseph J. Scafidi, age 83, of Gulfport, passed away on April 17, 2016.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph J. Scafidi, Sr. and Bernice Scafidi.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Alice Scafidi, his children, Stephen (Kathy) Scafidi, Stephanie (Ronald) Howard, Rhonda (Greg) Lockley, and Shirley (Kevin) Morgan, his siblings, Mary Lou Mutter, Andrew Scafidi, Carlo Scafidi, Alvin Scafidi, and Terry Scafidi, 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
Mr. Scafidi worked in the financial industry and was a member of St. James Catholic Church. He enjoyed writing poems and short stories.
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 21, 2016, from 10 - 11 am at St. James Catholic Church, 366 Cowan Road, Gulfport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am in the church. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
