Joseph A. Massie

Captain Joseph Albert Massie, age 63 and a resident of D'Iberville passed away Friday, November 28, 2014 in Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Earl Massie and Mary E. Massie; and a sister, Cindy Cain.
Captain Massie is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 23 years, Alice Massie, of D'Iberville; his sons, Christopher Ray, Kenneth Ray and his wife, Racheal Ray; grandchildren, Caitlin Ray, Caleb Ray, Mason Ray, Riley Schurtliff, Matthew Rawson, and Heather Christeson; a sister in law, Beatrice Tumminello and her daughter, Breanna; his brothers, Bill Massie (Joan), Jr., Tommy Massie (Maria), and Michael Massie; and his father and mother in law, Gene and Maudie Arnn. He is also survived by his special friends, Shane Griffin, Toni Miles, Ursula Stalen, Rob Verdan, Jerome Verdan, Mark Wallgren, and Sandra Wallgren, and his special four legged Rocketman. Skip and Carol Bell were very important in his life.
He loved being on the water and was the greatest tug boat captain on the Mississippi River and the Gulf of Mexico for over 40 years. He loved fishing with his children and grandchildren, and was an awesome cook. Joseph was a devoted husband, father, and friend, and was loyal to family and work.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Rd, Biloxi.
