Joseph Ladner, age 85, went to be with His Lord and Savior on February 15, 2018.  Mr. Ladner was born in Kiln, MS, but lived most of his life in Gulfport and later moved to Wiggins.
He is preceded in death by his first wife  of 56 years, Georgia Viola Lamb Ladner; their son, Johnny Ray Ladner;  parents, Henry and Lucretia Ladner; brothers, Russell Ladner, Richard Ladner, and Clayton Ladner; sisters, Audrey Byrd, Ruth Peterson, and Cora Fergusion; stepson, Jimmy Lott; granddaughters, Elizabeth Ann Ladner, and Erin Jo Reynolds Fink; and grandson, Matthew Scott Ladner.
Joseph is survived by his second wife of five years, Sarah Marie Ladner; son, Kevin (Cindy) Ladner of Kiln; daughter, Sharon (Richard) Walls of Gulfport; stepchildren, Eugene (Beth) Lott of Gulfport, Johnny Lott of Gulfport, Randy Lott of Gulfport, and Gary (Amber) Lott of Michigan;  grandchildren, Jon (Elizabeth) Reynolds, William (Heather) Johnson, Michael (Alden) Johnson, Justin (Cindy) Walls, Robert Walls, Christopher Warman, Brandon Ladner, Shannon (Corey) Reed, and Corrie Ladner; 34 (one on the way to make 35) great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
He served in the United States Marines during the Korean War.  He worked numerous jobs from a bakery worker to a truck driver and then retired from the Biloxi Veterans Administration Hospital as a Domiciliary Patients' Assistant (GS6) in 1990.
Joseph was a former member of Free Church of God and currently a member of Saucier Holiness Church.
He was loved by all of his family and friends and never met a stranger.  Joseph will truly be missed by all.  He was a great husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great-great grandfather.
After he retired, Joseph loved collecting aluminum cans, coke bottles and newspapers to make extra money to give to the grandchildren for their savings accounts when they were young.  He loved being outside and loved to go fishing in Louisiana with his brothers-in-law.
A visitation will be on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 from 7:00 pm - 9:00pm. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 10:00 AM with a visitation one hour prior,  all at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport. Burial will follow at Free Church of God Cemetery, Gulfport.
