Joseph Robert Kerr, Jr., born on May 17, 1948, in New Jersey, passed away on May 3, 2026, in Gulfport, Mississippi. He lived a full life marked by dedication to his work, love for his family, and enthusiasm for his favorite sports teams.

Joseph graduated from Clearview High School in Gloucester County, New Jersey. He continued his education at Atlantic Cape Community College in Atlantic County, New Jersey, where he earned an associate degree. He worked diligently as a Claims Manager for the Prudential Insurance Company. He worked in their offices located in Millville and Linwood, New Jersey, applying his skills and knowledge with steadfast commitment.

Beyond his career, Joseph was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and the Philadelphia Eagles, enjoying following their games and supporting his teams with true passion.

Family was very important to Joseph. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Marie Pessolano Kerr. He was a stepfather to two—Chellie Frady of Farmington, New Mexico, and Gregory Cole, Jr. of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. Joseph also leaves behind his sister, Linda Kerr of Long Beach, Mississippi, along with several grandchildren who brought joy to his life. Joseph also cared deeply for his pet, a floppy-eared rabbit named Ollie, who was a cherished companion.

Joseph was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Helen Kerr of Blackwood, New Jersey. Their memory lives on in his heart.

Joseph Robert Kerr, Jr. will be remembered for his kindness, loyalty, and the simple pleasures that brightened his days. He touched the lives of many and will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
